Training done by 4th Dan Shotokan Sensei. Excellent training for Body and Mind! Sensei Wessel's experience stretches over 20 years and he trained with karate instructors Sensei Soon Pretorius, the late Sensei Solly Pokroy, Sensei Len Els, but most of all with Hanshi Koos Burger. "I am especially interested in sensei Kase techniques as well as training persons over 35 years of age".
Focus group are karate practitioners who want something different (or more), but even so still rooted in Traditional Karate. But now with added some material of Kase Ha techniques and the whole CARDIO and other karate exercises practised in Okinawa. Ideal age group are those over the age of 30. THIS IS NOT A SPORTS AND COMPETITION KARATE CLUB - Just people doing karate together and exploring the MARTIAL ART. We prescribe to the standard protocol and dress code of the Karate tradition.

  1. SHOTOKAN KARATE
    Shotokan Karate and also specifically Shotokan Kase Ha (karate according to Sensei Taiji Kase). Also included is the series of Taikyoku katas as well as variant(s) of Ten No Kata. The standard BASICS, KATA, SPARRING and APPLICATION of KATA still forms the core modules for advancement to higher belt levels. The difference in this Karate Club is that it is not training for competition karate. We just train persons in the martial art of karate.

  1. PRIVATE OR ONLINE ZOOM KARATE CLASSES
    Private Karate classes are also offered at YOUR premises (only inside Silver Lakes Golf Estate) OR ONLINE ZOOM CLASSES. This takes the form of 1 class per week (payments per month). Because private classes are more intense the person advances much faster in karate than others. Also with a small addition the student/karateka can also train with the bigger group. Especially when the person wants to grade and go to another belt level. Highly recommended for a family setting for two or more persons in the family. Zoom classes must be pre-booked every month by nutual time and class arrangement.

  1. CARDIO KARATE
    Short Summary - Are you interested in training mobility, muscle memory, flexibility and strength, bone density, joints and balance, breathing exercises and a sense of space/coordination? Then this karate is for you!!! The traditional karate methods are still used but there are also a Cardio path in this karate now fully incorporated. This helps especially people over 40, 50, 60 and older to also enjoy the art of karate and at the same time training the body in a holistic manner. There are no chased or hurried exercise regimen but rather a skilled circuit that also includes karate. I have already trained some people in some of these exercises and they benefited greatly.

  1. SELF-DEFENCE
    Throughout the training there will be training of self-defence techniques. In two ways - the application (bunkai) of kata (forms) and then specifically also grips and locks. Endless repetition of a series of techniques until they are part of your muscle memory and easy thereafter to use. Practical one on one where it is practised in a controlled manner.
